Rejuran i Pre & Post-Treatment Care
Rejuran i is a highly specialized injectable treatment designed for the delicate skin around the eyes. Because the periorbital area is particularly prone to bruising, proper preparation is just as important as aftercare. Following these guidelines closely will minimize downtime and help you get the most from every session.
SECTION 1: ABOUT YOUR TREATMENT
What Is Rejuran i?
Rejuran i is an injectable skin booster formulated exclusively for the periorbital area — the skin surrounding and beneath your eyes. It contains highly purified polynucleotides (PN), derived from salmon DNA, that activate your skin's own fibroblasts to rebuild collagen, restore skin thickness, and improve texture from within. Unlike dermal fillers, Rejuran i does not add volume — it stimulates genuine skin repair. Results are gradual and progressive, building across a series of sessions.
What It Addresses
Fine lines and crepey texture under the eyes and at the outer corners
Skin thinning and loss of resilience in the periorbital area
Mild vascular dark circles (improved skin thickness reduces shadowing)
Dryness, dullness, and poor skin quality around the eyes
Early to moderate crow's feet
Your Treatment Series
Sessions: 3–4 treatments for optimal results
Spacing: Every 3–4 weeks
Session time: ~30–45 minutes (including numbing)
When you'll see results: 4–8 weeks; most noticeable after 2nd–3rd session
How long results last: 6–12 months from a full series
Maintenance: One session every 6–12 months
SECTION 2: PRE-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
Preparing for Your Appointment
The periorbital area bruises more readily than most of the face. The steps below — especially alcohol and blood thinner avoidance — make a meaningful difference in your experience and outcome.
⚠️ *** PRIORITY: Reducing Bruising Risk ***
Stop the following 5–7 days before your appointment (unless prescribed for a medical condition — never stop prescription medications without your physician's guidance):
Over-the-counter medications and supplements to pause:
Aspirin and aspirin-containing products (Excedrin, Alka-Seltzer)
NSAIDs: ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), naproxen (Aleve)
Fish oil / omega-3 supplements
Vitamin E supplements
Ginkgo biloba, garlic supplements, ginger supplements
St. John's Wort
Alcohol — stop at least 48–72 hours before treatment:
Alcohol dilates blood vessels, impairs platelet function, and significantly increases both bruising and post-treatment swelling. Even moderate alcohol consumption in the 2–3 days before your appointment is enough to affect your outcome. The longer you can abstain before your session, the better your results — and the more comfortable your recovery.
If you are on prescription blood thinners (warfarin, Plavix, Eliquis, Xarelto, heparin), do not stop these medications. Inform your provider so we can plan accordingly.
7 Days Before Your Appointment
Discontinue aspirin, NSAIDs, fish oil, Vitamin E, and herbal supplements listed above (if medically safe)
Avoid injectable treatments in the eye area — allow adequate healing time between sessions
Pause retinol or prescription retinoids around the eye area to reduce skin sensitivity
48–72 Hours Before Your Appointment
Stop all alcohol consumption — even moderate intake meaningfully increases bruising risk in the periorbital area
Avoid prolonged or intense sun exposure; sunburned skin is not suitable for treatment
Drink plenty of water; well-hydrated skin responds better to treatment
Day of Your Appointment
Arrive with a clean face — remove all eye makeup and skincare products beforehand (or we will cleanse the area)
No eye cream or active serums on the day of treatment
Eat a light meal before your appointment — treating on an empty stomach can cause lightheadedness
Avoid or limit caffeine if you are sensitive to it
Let us know about any new medications, supplements, illness, or skin changes since your last visit
Postpone your appointment if you have an active cold sore, eye infection, or open skin irritation in the treatment area — contact us so we can reschedule
SECTION 3: POST-TREATMENT CARE
What to Expect After Treatment
Small raised bumps (papules) at each injection site are normal — they confirm correct superficial product placement and flatten within 12–24 hours. Mild redness, swelling, and a sense of tightness are expected. Light bruising occurs in approximately 15–25% of clients and is more common in the delicate under-eye area.
Normal Side Effects at a Glance
First 24 Hours
Do not touch, rub, or massage the treated area — even if bumps are visible
No makeup around the eye area — cosmetics introduce bacteria to healing injection channels
No eye cream, retinol, or active skincare products in the treated zone
Apply a cool compress (cloth or gel pack — not ice directly on skin) for 10–15 minutes as needed
Avoid hot showers, steam rooms, saunas, and hot yoga
No strenuous exercise or activities that significantly increase blood flow to the face
No alcohol for at least 24–48 hours — it delays healing and worsens bruising
Sleep with your head slightly elevated to minimize overnight under-eye swelling
Days 2–7
Cleanse gently with a mild, fragrance-free cleanser; avoid rubbing the eye area
A simple, non-active moisturizer can be used — hold off on retinol, AHAs, BHAs, and Vitamin C serums
Apply SPF 50+ every day — UV exposure disrupts collagen repair and increases pigmentation risk during healing. Reapply mid-day.
Arnica gel (topical) may be applied gently starting 24 hours after treatment if bruising is present
Avoid facials, chemical peels, and laser or energy-based treatments in the treated area for a minimum of 2 weeks
Continue avoiding heavy alcohol consumption and smoking — both slow collagen synthesis and tissue repair
Ongoing
Daily sun protection is the single most important thing you can do to maintain your results
Stay well hydrated — it amplifies the hydrating effects of treatment
Return for your next session as scheduled — results build cumulatively across your series
Note: If you plan to combine Rejuran i with laser or RF treatments, schedule Rejuran i first. If you've already had energy-based treatments, Rejuran i can follow at any time.
